2007 Etchells World Championships

Cowes, Isle of Wight, England

The 2007 Etchells World Championship will be held in England on the Solent and will be hosted by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club from its Cowes, Isle of Wight club house between 25 and 30 June. Crews must qualify for this regatta so only the very best teams from across the globe will compete and currently an entry of some 70 boats from eleven nations is anticipated.

Since its introduction in 1967 this 9.5m open day boat, sailed by crews of three or four, has earned a reputation as one of the strongest and most competitive keelboat classes in the world. The class attracts top international sailors including many Olympic and America’s Cup veterans and the title of Etchells World Champion is regarded as one of the most coveted in yachting.
